During my master's in Interaction Design, I did research on emerging business models like digital platforms and networked business models. The concepts of the platform economy and the experience economy describe the ongoing trends very well: It's all about people and the joint co-creation of value. It’s therefore important to involve people, make data-based decisions, and align strategy beyond company boundaries.

Transforming means collaborating

Today, it’s no longer enough to develop an individual strategy. Organizations need to collaborate to achieve their common goals and develop new business models. This requires a systemic perspective that also looks at the players and technologies in the ecosystem. An update here, a small feature there ... innovation of single increments won't get you anywhere unless you are working collaboratively toward a shared vision.
